San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio FC (2-0-0) will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1-1-0) at Toyota Field on Friday, April 7th at 8:00 p.m. The match will be the club's second at home this USL season after they opened Toyota Field with a dominant win last Saturday.
Coverage of the match will be available at SanAntonioFC.com and the USL Match Center.
San Antonio FC will aim to earn their third consecutive win this season after earning a convincing 3-0 win against LA Galaxy II last Saturday at Toyota Field. Prior to the victory over the Galaxy II, SAFC earned their first win of the season over RGV FC on the road in the debut on H-E-B Park. SAFC midfielder Billy Forbes scored in both matches to help the Alamo City club earn all six points.
Colorado Springs heads into the match after earning a 1-1 draw against OKC Energy FC last weekend. The Switchbacks initially recorded a loss in their first match of the season, however the club gained three points and a +3 goal differential after the Tulsa Roughnecks were forced to forfeit the match for fielding an ineligible player in the second half.
SAFC currently leads the USL in conversion rate after scoring four goals from eight total shots so far this season. The Alamo City club is also one of only two teams in the entire league who have yet to concede a goal to the opposition (also Tampa Bay Rowdies). Meanwhile, midfielder Cesar Elizondo is tied for the league-lead in assists, while Forbes is tied for the second-most goals scored with two.
The match will mark the third time the two clubs face each other. SAFC previously narrowly lost 0-1 to Colorado Springs on the road on April 23 of last year before earning a 2-1 win against the Switchbacks at Toyota Field just two months later.
