Ahead of Saturday's Langley home opener at McLeod Athletic Park, new Whitecaps FC 2 head coach Rich Fagan writes an open letter to the fans. Have a read below.Dear WFC2 fans,
Thanks for joining us for another exciting season playing in the United Soccer League.
I am honoured to be coaching Whitecaps FC 2, after having served the club for the last seven years in different levels of youth programs. Developing talent and moulding young prospects into professional football players is a responsibility I take seriously and with great joy, and I am excited for this challenge.
Last year, you witnessed Alphonso Davies, Brett Levis, Kyle Greig, and Spencer Richey mature into MLS players. I'm glad to have you along to see which player is next to prove himself and move up the ladder.
The locker room is full of promise. We're proud of the talent that has come out of our Residency programs, which have yielded players like Gloire Amanda, Terran Campbell, Kadin Chung, Thomas Gardner, David Norman Jr., Sean Melvin, Chris Serban, and the Baldisimo brothers. Our returning players, including Sem de Wit, Thomas Sanner, Will Seymore, and Deklan Wynne, are ready to build on last year's deep playoff run. And there are new players this year who you'll come to know.
Our team is looking forward to seeing you in the stands at McLeod Athletic Park this Saturday, as well as Thunderbird Stadium this season. We hope to put on a show for you and your families, one that will entertain you, and have the kids dreaming of playing for Whitecaps FC someday.
