
San Antonio FC Signs Midfielder Jacori Hayes

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC has signed MLS veteran midfielder Jacori Hayes for the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval, the team announced today. Per team policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are excited to welcome Jacori to the team," said head coach Alen Marcina. "He is an experienced box-to-box center midfielder who provides added leadership to the team. Jacori is a tenacious ball-winner who is committed to relentless pressing actions, and excels at playing vertical penetrating passes. He is a great person who is highly motivated and we feel will be a great team culture fit."
Hayes spent the last six seasons in MLS, including the last three with Minnesota United FC. Since 2017, the midfielder has appeared in 72 matches and racked up over 3,000 minutes played.
Last season, Hayes assisted once in eight matches before an injury ended his season. For his career, the Wake Forest product has scored twice and assisted five times in MLS.
Additionally, defender Michael Edwards has been recalled by the Colorado Rapids. Edwards arrived in San Antonio on loan in February.
San Antonio FC kicks off the USL Championship Title defense on March 11, opening the season at home against Oakland Roots SC. Kickoff from Toyota Field is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, with tickets available now at SanAntonioFC.com or the SAFC app.
