San Antonio FC News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio FC midfielder Jose Escalante was named to the USL Team of the Week, the league announced today. Escalante scored his first goal for the club and earned a penalty kick in the 3-1 win over the Las Vegas Lights last Friday.

The Honduran was named the SWBC Man of the Match following his performance in the win. He calmly scored his goal after receiving a cross from defender Darnell King in the 33rd minute before earning a penalty kick in the 51st following some impressive skill near the byline. Teammate Rafa Castillo scored the ensuing penalty to ensure the three points for San Antonio and the first road win of the season. Escalante joined SAFC prior to the start of the 2018 season after appearing in 21 matches with RGVFC last season, scoring four goals.
