Charleston Battery News Release
Skylar Thomas and Gordon Wild have been named to the USL Team of the Week for week seven after helping the Charleston Battery earn wins against Atlanta United 2 and the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Thomas played the entirety of both matches, leading the Battery to back-to-back shutouts. The Canadian defender won 16 of 24 duels during the two matches and recorded seven tackles, four interceptions and 12 clearances.
Wild scored his first two professional goals against his parent Club to help Charleston to a 3-0 win over Atlanta United 2 at Coolray Field Tuesday night. The Atlanta United loanee scored his two goals on three shots and recorded two key passes in the victory. Wild played the final 25 minutes in the match against Tampa on Saturday as the Battery closed out their 1-0 win at home.
The honor is the second of Thomas' career and Wild's first. Tah Brian Anunga joins Thomas and Wild on the week seven team as a reserve.
