San Antonio FC Goalkeeper Diego Restrepo Named to USL Team of the Week

April 24, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
San Antonio FC News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio FC goalkeeper Diego Restrepo was named to the USL Team of the Week, the league announced today. Restrepo tied his SAFC career high with six saves last Sunday in Fresno, while keeping his second clean sheet of the 2018 season and 14th clean sheet with San Antonio overall.

Restrepo's six saves against Fresno matched the mark he originally set in Los Angeles against the LA Galaxy II on Sept. 9, 2017. Since the start of the 2017 campaign, no USL goalkeeper has recorded more regular season clean sheets than Restrepo's 14. The San Antonio number one has shutout his opponents in over 40 percent of the matches he has played in an SAFC kit, and he has conceded more than one goal in a match just six times over the course of his Alamo City career.

Restrepo joins SAFC midfielder Mikey Lopez as the second San Antonio player to earn USL Team of the Week honors in 2018. Last season, San Antonio had eight different players included in the Team of the Week 13 different times over the course of their 32 matches, with Restrepo earning the honors twice.
