Nashville SC News Release
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Road points are never bad, and in the rain in Pennsylvania, Nashville SC earned a point in a 0-0 draw against Penn FC on Tuesday night.
90 in a nutshell
The first half saw few chances by either side. The best one came from the foot of Robin Shroot in the 44' minute. Shroot got on top of a loose ball, but his shot was saved by Penn keeper Sean Lewis.
Nashville turned up the heat in the second half as midfielder Lebo Moloto almost put the visitors ahead in the 49' minute. A clean look in the box just slid by the outside of the post to keep the game scoreless.
The Nashville SC defense and keeper Matt Pickens limited the chances for Penn throughout the match. They only allowed two shots on goal from Penn in the match leading to the shutout.
Quotables
Nashville SC captain and midfielder Michael Reed
"The shutout and our defense's consistency were both positives for us. We were organized in the back and [Penn] wasn't able to generate many chances. We showed positive movement, but just didn't have the last touch to get the goal."
Key Stat
Pickens - 4th shutout. Pickens is the only keeper in the Eastern Conference with four shutouts this year.
Standings Update
The road point gives Nashville eight points in six matches and a 2-2-2 record. They currently sit in 7th place in the East.
Next Up
Nashville will be off for 11 days until it takes the field on May 6 against New York Red Bulls II in Montclair, New Jersey.
