San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, TX- Right out of the gates, the Sports had Mark Persails on the ropes as they had 6 straight hitters reach in a 3 run 1st inning that included a Derek Patterson homer. The contest stayed 3-0 until the 5th, in which the Sports would again send 9 men to the plate scoring 6 times capped by a Kevin Webster 3-run homer, his 1st of the season.
The Sports at this point had the game in control but added 2 more in the 6th and 1 in the 9th en route to a 12-1 thrashing of the San Angelo Colts who for the 2nd straight night were dominated at the hands of a starting pitcher who entered the evening with a sub .500 record and an E.R.A above 4.00.
Last night Kevin Kuklis had the honors, but not to be outdone tonight it was Jason Slanina who chucked a 2-hit complete game gem. The only chink in the armor was a Ricky Magdelano solo homer in the 8th to keep the Colts from being shutout. Shreveport would pound out 17 hits including mult-hit nights from Tony Schifano, Derek Patterson, Joe Dusan, Derek Henderson, Jorge Alvarez and Kevin Webster. Henderson would lead the team with 5 RBI's. San Angelo's only multi-hit performer was Juan Rocha in a 2-3 evening.
