Jackson Senators News Release
Jackson, MSâ The Jackson Senators got off to a great start tonight in game 1 of a 3 game series with Amarillo, but errors ended up costing them the game 4-3. The Senator offense roughed up Marcos Castillo early scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st. 4 hits were pilled up in the at bat and it looked as if Jackson was going to run away with the contest. Marcos Castillo rolled with the punches however and wouldn't give up any more runs the rest of the game.
Senator starter Ryan Snyder pitched well himself, shutting out the Dillas till the 7th. In the 7th, the Sens defense completely broke down, committing 3 errors in the inning. The Dillas would take advantage of this, and score 3 times thanks to hits by Ayala, Mann, and Meier. All the runs in the inning were unearned, but it was enough for the Senators to go to the bullpen. Reliever Alexis Guzman would come on in the 8th and 9th and take the loss for Jackson. Guzman rendered 1 run on 2 hits as Amarillo took the lead 4-3.
Jackson went down in order in the 9th as Jason Stockman recorded his 2nd save of the year. The Senators are now 6-17 in 1 run games, and will play game 2 tomorrow at 7:05
