Salute to Service Night this Saturday Features Lights FC vs. Saint Louis FC
July 3, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
LAS VEGAS - In the midst of a heavy stretch of away matches during the summer months, Las Vegas Lights FC returns to Cashman Field Saturday night for its lone home date of July.
And it should be a night to remember, for many reasons.
The key attraction will be the meeting between Lights FC (4-6-5, 17 points) and Saint Louis FC (5-5-7, 22 points), in what is a crucial showdown between two teams looking to elevate themselves in the USL's Western Conference playoff picture.
Saturday will also be Salute to Service night at Cashman Field, as the club will have several tributes and features to honor our veterans, current military and first responders. For full details on the night's events, plus to purchase tickets starting at just $15, visit LightsFC.com/Salute.
A few of those tributes and features will include...
Photo opportunities with Nate Boyer, former NFL player and United States Army Green Beret.

Color Guard, courtesy of Nellis Air Force Base
Special halftime swearing in of up to 100 recruits on the field
Recognitions for those currently serving as well as veterans
As always, the Zappos Tailgate will begin outside Cashman Field at 5:30 p.m. It is free to attend, and will feature a selection of beers and food trucks, tailgate games for adults and kids, the Zappos llamas - Dotty and Dolly - and a pregame pep talk from Lights FC players.
Saturday's match also airs locally on myLVTV and streams on ESPN+.
ALSO THIS WEEK
Lights FC will have open-to-the-public and open-to-the-media practice sessions each night at 7 p.m. at Kellogg-Zaher Soccer Complex (7901 W. Washington Ave.), with practice running until approximately 9:30 p.m. each night. Stay up to date with the club's training schedule daily at LightsFC.com/Training. Lights FC players and coaches are available for interviews following each practice session.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Saturday night, Lights FC ended a 2-match road swing by earning a point in Tulsa via a 2-2 draw with Roughnecks FC. The club had to rally from an early 1-0 deficit, and did so behind goals from Raul Mendiola and Daigo Kobayashi. The team finished the month of June with a 2-2-1 mark, scoring 12 goals - its highest-scoring month so far in the 2018 season.
In last week's installment of "Lights FC Q&A," we gave a deeper introduction to defender Marco Cesar Jaime Jr. Born in Las Vegas, Jaime Jr. moved to Mexico at age 6, but yearned for the opportunity to return to Las Vegas and continue his professional career. Now, the 23-year-old defender is thriving both on and off of the pitch.
