Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today they will be playing two road exhibition games versus the Utah Grizzlies.
The games will come at the conclusion of training camp and will give management and the coaching staff the opportunity to observe the players against the Salmon Kings West Division rival.
"Having two preseason games in Utah will give us a chance to see how our players compete against ECHL competition," Dan Belisle Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager said. "It is the most accurate way for us to evaluate both their skill level and how they will fit into our system."
The games will be played on Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th. The Friday game will be played in Park City, Utah, and the Saturday Game will be played in West Valley City, Utah. Both games begin at 6:30 (PDT).
The Salmon Kings begin the 2007-08 regular season when they travel to Idaho to take on the Kelly Cup Champion Steelheads on October 19th and 20th. The team's home opener will be the following weekend when the Las Vegas Wranglers invade the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 220-7889.
