Dayton, OH- The 2007 ECHL American Conference Champion Dayton Bombers General Manager Don MacAdam announced today the signing of a pair of former Colgate University defensemen to contracts through the 2007-2008 season. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Defensemen Alex Greig ("Greg",right) and Mike Campaner ("CAM-pan-er", left) both competed at the collegiate level at Colgate University from 2003 to 2007.

Greig, a 23-year-old native of Pickering, Ontario, Canada, recorded eight points in 99 career games as a Raider and picked up 98 PIM. The 6'4", 215-pound Greig was a recipient of Colgate's Whit Williams Award as one of the team's most improved players.

"This is a huge step entering the professional ranks and taking on better players," Greig said. "I'm expecting to play my defensive role, make good first passes, add some confidence to the team and hopefully make an offensive impact as well."

Campaner, 24, appeared in 137 games as a Raider, recording 62 points (10G, 52A). The 5'8", 170-pound native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, twice led Colgate's defensemen in scoring and shared the team's Dan Coley "Barrell" Award as the squad's best defensemen as a junior.

"This is going to be a learning experience for me," Campaner said. "It's good to have friends beside me, too."

Greig and Campaner join fellow Colgate alumnus Ryan Smyth on the Bombers 2007-2008 squad.

"We were a tight bunch of guys at school," Smyth said. "I know them very well and it'll make for an easy transition."
