
Salmon Kings Add Duo to Roster

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed goaltender Jase Weslosky, while adding forward Jonathan Milhouse on a tryout agreement.
Weslosky, an Edmonton, AB native joins the Salmon Kings to begin his professional career after last playing during the 2008-09 for the St. Cloud State Huskies of the NCAA. During that season Weslosky appeared in 33 games, posting a record of 16-13-2 with a goals against average of 2.70, a save percentage of 0.913 and two shutouts.
The 6-2, 185 lb goaltender spent a total of three seasons (2006-07 thru 2008-09) at St. Cloud, going 37-27-4 in 72 contests, while marking a 0.920 save percentage, a 2.43 goals against average and six shutouts.
The 22-year-old Weslosky spent the 2005-06 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, notching a 9-18-8 record in 41 games played. This included a 3.11 goals against average and 0.910 save percentage. During his year in Sherwood Park, Weslosky was named to the AJHL Prospects Game.
Weslosky was a fourth-round pick (#108 overall) of the New York Islanders in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Milhouse, hailing from Yorba Linda, CA, joins the Salmon Kings after a 2009-10 campaign that saw him play in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Vernon Vipers. In 56 appearances Milhouse netted 53 points (19g-34a) while serving 24 minutes in penalties. He also helped lead the Vipers to a BCHL Championship this past spring, recording 13 points (6g-7a) and four penalty minutes in 19 games.
The Vipers also took home the Doyle Cup in the spring of 2009, a championship between the playoff victors in the BCHL and Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), where Milhouse scored one goal and one assist for two points in seven games. In addition to the Doyle Cup, the Vipers celebrated a 2009 Royal Bank Cup win, becoming the top junior "A" hockey team in Canada, on the back of seven points (3g-4a) in five games from Milhouse.
The 21-year-old forward spent the previous two seasons (2007-08 and 2008-09) between the BCHL's Victoria Grizzlies and Western Hockey League's (WHL) Portland Winterhawks. The majority of his time was spent in Victoria where he dressed for 94 games scoring 89 points (34g-55a) and tallying 74 minutes in penalties. Milhouse also spent 17 games during the 2008-09 with Portland in the WHL notching three goals and adding seven assists for 10 points with six penalty minutes.
The 5-10, 170 lb Milhouse began his junior career with two partial seasons (2005-06 and 2006-07) in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips. In 34 combined games he accrued no points and 12 minutes in penalties. Milhouse also appeared in 13 games during the 2006-07 campaign with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL), registering one goal and two penalty minutes.
The Salmon Kings kick-off the 2010-11 season with two exhibition contests versus the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th.
