Coming Up This Week â The Saints will enjoy a few days off this week before playing a home-and-home series against Corpus Christi Friday in San Angelo and Saturday in Corpus â followed by a Sunday home match-up against the defending league champion Memphis Riverkings at 5:05 pm. Friday night is the first Standard Times Family Night of the season. Fans can get 4 mid-zone tickets, 4 medium drinks, 2 large popcorns and a Saints program for just $40 with a coupon that will be in the Standard Times this week. The first 1000 fans through the doors will also get free key chains from Demand Staff â and all fans will have the chance to win hundreds of dollars in cash during several in-game drawings. Then, Sunday â all fans through the doors will get a free American Flag as the Saints celebrate Veteran's Day and honor our country's armed forces.
Week In Review â The Saints went 1-2-0 this week with a 5-4 shootout win over Laredo on Tuesday followed by back-to-back 5-2 road losses to Odessa and El Paso.
Tuesday, October 29th / San Angelo 5 - Laredo 4 (SO) / For the 2nd time this season the Saints jumped out to a substantial lead against the Bucks only to see the Bucks come back in the 3rd period and make it interesting. Joey Sewell scored for the Bucks with 56-seconds left in the 3rd period to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime period Jarrett Metz, Kori Davison and Blake Sheane all made their shootout shots and Jamie Ronayne saved 3 of 5 Bucks shots for the shootout win. Sheane scored the game winner with a nice back-hand move against Bucks goalie Lance Leslie. Cori Pecush recorded his first professional hat-trick to lead the Saints and Troy Mann added a goal and 2 assists. The Budweiser 3 Stars of the Game were Pecush, Mann and Sheane.
Friday, November 1st / San Angelo 2 - Odessa 5 / Odessa grabbed an early lead and then put the game away with two goals in the space of 12 seconds mid-way through the 3rd period. Jarrett Metz and Jason Abel scored goals for the Saints to keep the game close. The Saints also lost Blake Sheane and Abel to injuries in the game.
Saturday, November 2nd / San Angelo 2 - El Paso 5 / El Paso jumped out to an early lead and then held on as the Saints made a run with goals by Jarrett Metz and Corri Moffat in the 3rd period. The Saints played without injured Jamie Thompson, Blake Sheane and Jason Abel. Look for some roster moves this week by the Saints as they fill out their roster for this weekend's games. Thompson, Sheane and Abel are all currently on the injured reserve list.
League Leaders â Despite a couple of losses this week the Saints still lead the CHL in Goals, Assists, Points, Power-Play Goals For, PIMs and 10-minute misconducts.
