Laredo Bucks News Release

Laredo Bucks center Dave Gove is the Central Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week of October 28 – November 3. With twelve points in three games, Gove led the Bucks to a 2-0-1 record, including victories in the first two games ever at the Laredo Entertainment Center. With 16 points in 8 games, Gove is currently the leading scorer in the Central Hockey League.

Gove started the week by winning a face-off to set up Joey Sewell's game-tying goal in the final minute of Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss in San Angelo. On Friday, in the first home game in Laredo Bucks history, Gove racked up a goal and five assists in the Bucks' 7-3 win against the Corpus Christi IceRays. The following night, Gove had a goal and four assists—including a helper on Michel Periard's game-winning goal with 1:18 remaining—in a 7-6 victory over the Wichita Thunder.

Gove, 24, is a second-year pro from Centerville, Massachusetts. He played last season with Johnstown of the East Coast Hockey League and Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. Gove came to the Bucks from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League, where he attended training camp.

The Bucks travel this weekend, playing in New Mexico on Friday and El Paso Saturday and Sunday. The games air live on "La Tamaulipeca" 101.5 FM and 1410 AM. The next Bucks home game is Thursday, November 15 against Corpus Christi. Tickets are available at the Laredo Entertainment Center box office and all Ticketmaster ticket centers.
