St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN (May 20, 2007) - With St. Paul Saints pitchers falling left and right due to injury manager George Tsamis needed to find an arm, and fast. He found him in veteran left-hander Jeff Urban.

The 30 year-old Urban was a first round pick (41st overall) of the San Francisco Giants in 1998 and spent seven years and six seasons (he missed the entire 2000 season due to injury) with the organization before they granted him free agency in 2004.

Urban spent the final three seasons with the Giants at Triple-A Fresno, didn't play in 2005 and spent 2006 with Somerset of the Atlantic League. In his seven year career he is 38-47 with a 4.22 ERA in 203 games.

"It's great to find that veteran arm once the season has started," said Saints Manager George Tsamis. "Jeff has Triple-A experience and we look for him to step right in and help this pitching staff out."

The Saints also traded starting pitcher J.C. Huguet to Atlantic City of the Atlantic League for future considerations. Huguet will become the pitching coach for the Surf as well as pitch for them. Huguet pitched just two games with the Saints.

The Saints roster now sits at 22 players, 11 pitchers and 11 position players.
