RBI singles by Blacksnakes OF Adam Balkan and OF David Fowler in the top of the seventh inning broke a 5-5 tie and led St. Joe to a win over St. Paul and a split in the four game series. St. Joe 3B Chad Sosebee had a great day at the plate going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two runs driven in. C Cody Palmer chipped in with two hits for the Blacksnakes as well. Kellen Raab picked up the win in relief for St. Joe going 5 1/3 innings allowing only an unearned run on two hits with seven strikeouts. RF Adam Olow had two hits in four at-bats with two RBI for the Saints in the losing effort.

Shreveport 2, Pensacola 1

SS Bryan Cooksey doubled home C Tommy Bryant in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead Shreveport to victory and a four game sweep of the Pelicans. Leo Tyson won the game in relief for Shreveport pitching two scoreless innings allowing a walk and picking up a strikeout. Both starting pitchers Scott VanderMeer and Bert Snow each had superb outings in the contest allowing only one run through six innings but neither one factor in the decision. CF Nathan Warrick had a 2-for-4 outing for the Pelicans.

Fort Worth 6, Lincoln 5

HR: LN-Brett Cooley; FW-Carlos Adolfo (1), Charles Carter (2), Mark Mirizzi (1)

Back-to-back home runs by 1B Charles Carter and CF Carlos Adolfo in the bottom of the eighth inning was the difference in Fort Worth edging Lincoln by a run. Lee Gwaltney won the contest for the Cats pitching a scoreless seventh and eighth inning allowing a hit and striking out three. Scotty Layfield gave up a run in the ninth inning but held on to notch his second save of the season for Fort Worth. 1B Brett Cooley had a monster game offensively in the losing cause for Lincoln, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI and his second home run of the season.
