Saints Second Baseman Bernal Named to Post-Season All-Star Team

ST. PAUUL, MN (August 27, 2010) - St. Paul Saints manager George Tsamis was looking for offense when he traded for El Paso Diablo infielder Hector Bernal. Bernal's great season has paid off as he was named an American Association Post-Season All-Star at second base.

The 24-year-old Bernal is hitting .331 overall with four homers and 53 RBI in 85 games. In 341 at bats he has scored 52 runs has 19 doubles, a league leading eight triples with a .409 on base percentage and a .469 slugging percentage.

Bernal was a 14th round selection by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2006 June Amateur Draft. He played one season for the organization and split time between the Arizona League and Single-A West Virginia. In 2007 and 2008 he played for Yuma in the Golden League and had a career year in '08 hitting .334 with nine homers and 53 RBI in 78 games.

The Post-Season All-Star team was voted on by one media member from each of the 10 teams in the league and the 10 managers. Voters could vote for teams in either the North or South Division and could vote for their own team. The remaining Post-Season All-Star's are as follows:
