Sioux Falls 4, St. Paul 3
Trailing by one late in the game, Sioux Falls got a homerun from DH Beau Torbert to even the score 3-3. In the bottom of the ninth, an error by St. Paul plated the winning run from second, giving the Pheasants a 4-3 walkoff victory. LF Hunter Jobes had three hits for Sioux Falls while both LF Josh Alley and 1B Jason Cooper tallied three hits for the Saints. Torbert's blast was his 24th roundtripper of the season. Pheasants reliever Ben Rosen pitched two dynamite innings as he struckout three and allowed only one hit. He improved to 2-0 with the victory.
Lincoln 14, Sioux City 5
Lincoln built a summer snowman as they scored eight times in the sixth inning to rout Sioux City by the final of 14-5. The Saltdogs cranked out 15 hits and homered six times in the game. 1B Phil Hawke and DH Juan Camacho each left the yard twice. Lincoln LF Argelis Nunez had three hits in five at-bats, scored twice, and drove in three runs. RF Rafael Alvarez tallied four RBI with two hits in the contest. Jim Paduch pitched six solid innings for Lincoln and struckout seven while surrendering three earned runs on eight hits. His record improved to 9-6 with the win.
Shreveport-Bossier 3, Grand Prairie 1 (11 Innings)
The Captains and AirHogs waited until extra innings to do all their scoring, with Shreveport-Bossier ending up on the winning end by a 3-1 final. 2B Jorge Alvarez's leadoff double in the top of tenth led to the game's first run and a 1-0 cushion for the Captains. Grand Prairie answered with a run in the bottom half before Shreveport-Bossier strung together three hits in the top of the eleventh for two more runs. Mark Haynes then came out of the Captains bullpen and worked a scoreless inning for his first save of the season.
El Paso 10, Wichita 4
This one was all El Paso as the Diablos jumped ahead 5-1 after four innings and cruised to a 10-4 win. Starter Shaun Ellis tossed 6.2 innings for El Paso. He allowed nine hits but just three runs and improved to 9-4 with the win. 3B J.D. Reininger did the damage at the plate for the Diablos as he finished 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI. Diablos CF Jeff Vincent homered and drove in two as well. Wichita 1B Carlos Rivera played well in the loss as he homered and drove in two as part of a 4-for-5 night at the plate.
Fort Worth @ Pensacola (PPD - rain)
The scheduled game between Fort Worth and Pensacola was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday August 28th.
