Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
Fighting Saints defenseman Dylan Herzog announced his commitment to the Yale Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon, becoming the second Saints defenseman in a row to commit to an Ivy League school. Herzog is now the third Saints defenseman who will be headed to an Ivy League school, joining Ian Pierce (Dartmouth) and Henry Thrun (Harvard).
"Yale has always been one of my dream schools," said Herzog. "The campus is beautiful, and the education is hard to beat. Not to mention, the hockey has a lot of history as well. I am very excited to be able to commit to Yale."
Herzog was a late addition to the Saints training camp roster, as he came to Dubuque from the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL. Herzog was immediately noticeable in practice and preseason games and impressed with his good skating and offensive instincts.
"Dylan is a fortunate young man," said head coach Oliver David. "He has had a dream to attend an Ivy League school and has worked hard to turn that dream into a reality. He's going a long way from home to play for Yale, but he will bring a solid defensive game with him that Bulldog fans will appreciate."
Herzog has been very solid in the early season for Dubuque. He has played in all four games and has one assist so far for Dubuque.
