
Saints Cooper Named Teamline Direct Player of the Week

ST. PAUL, MN (August 3, 2009) - Jason Cooper has been red hot for the St. Paul Saints since he joined the club on June 29 and his efforts were recognized by the American Association as he was named the Teamline Direct Player of the Week for the week ending August 2.
The 28-year-old Cooper had an incredible week hitting .393 (11-28) with three homers and 11 RBI. He clubbed two doubles and scored seven runs while walking five times as he helped carry the Saints to a 6-1 record. Cooper has hit safely in five straight, had at least one RBI and scored at least one run over those five games.
Cooper is hitting .342 with six homers and 29 RBI in 29 games. In 114 at bats he has 10 doubles, two triples, scored 27 runs while slugging .623 with a .414 on base percentage.
This season Cooper started with Triple-A Buffalo, where he spent the last four seasons. He played more games for the Bisons than any player in history. He was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Indians in 2002
This is the second Teamline Direct Player of the Week for the Saints. Craig Brazell earned the honors for the week ending May 17.
