St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (August 9, 2017) - The St. Paul Saints welcome the Sioux Falls Canaries to CHS Field August 10-13 for one of the final weekend home stands of the regular season. With the summer winding down, we will celebrate the sounds of the season while giving back to the St. Paul community.
Why wait to celebrate one of the best days of the year? On Thursday, August 10 at 7:05 p.m. we are celebrating St. Paddy's Day in August presented by Hell-Cat Maggie Irish Whiskey. We can't promise you pots of gold, but perhaps the luck of the Irish will be with the Saints that night. As has become tradition the Saints will wear special Irish jersey's as your favorite players will change their names for the night. Cheer on Mark O'Hamburger and Anthony McGallas as the Saints Go Green. Shaun Clancy, owner of the premier baseball bar in New York City, Foley's NY, will be on hand to induct Saints Team Psychologist, Bill Murray, and 45-year-old home run hitter and former Saint, Kevin Millar, into the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame. While neither is scheduled to attend both have been important in the baseball world. Also, $1 beers on Thirsty Thursday presented by Sprint will be sure to make you feel lucky and perhaps seeing green.
The sounds of summer can include waves crashing, children laughing, or the crack of a bat at your favorite baseball game. We promise it won't be a Cruel Summer at the ballpark, on Friday, August 11 at 7:05 p.m., but Summer Dreams Will Make You Feel Fine on Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks. You can also listen to the sounds of summer all year long with earbuds given to the first 1,500 fans presented by Securian Financial.
Bring your non-perishable food to CHS Field on Saturday, August 12 at 7:05 p.m. and donate to the Food Group food bank, sponsored by Minnesota Atheists and Freedom From Religion Foundation. The Saints will be wearing special edition jerseys for the night along with a sprinkle of island attire for Treasure Island Saturday.
The first 2,000 fans in the ballpark on Sunday, August 13 at 5:05 p.m. will receive a foam mitt courtesy of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. We don't necessarily recommend catching foul balls with this glove, but maybe a player could autograph it for you instead. Following the game, kids can run the bases and players will be available for autographs on Chevy Family Fun Sunday.
The season is winding down, but the Sounds of Summer will make you forget about the impending final days ahead. With a little Luck O' The Irish the Saints will make a playoff run and a championship won't be Unbelievable.
