Saints Announce Opening Day Roster

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Saints head coach Ray Edwards made his final roster cuts this morning and announced the Saints' opening day roster for the team's first games of the regular season this weekend. Rookie forward Christian Fletcher was the final cut this morning as the Saints trimmed their roster to the league maximum of 18 players.

The Saints have also announced their team captains for the upcoming season. Forward Ryan Finnerty has been named the Team Captain with forward Chris Minard and defenseman Konrad Brand tabbed as the Assistant Captains.

The Saints begin their 2nd season Friday night at 7 p.m. in Odessa against the arch-rival Jackalopes. The game will be broadcast live on Magic 98 (KELI 98.7 FM) and on the internet at www.sanangelosaints.com. The team's home opener is Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. against the expansion Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the San Angelo Coliseum. Magic 98 will be broadcasting live from the coliseum parking lot for a "bring your own" Tailgate Party from 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Every fan through the doors will receive a free magnet schedule from 1st Community Federal Credit Union and 500 free Saints t-shirts from Gandy Ink will be tossed into the crowd during the intermissions. Following Saturday's game there will be a free Post-Game Party with the Saints players at the Little River Club.
