
Saints and Encore Broadcasting Reach Agreement

San Angelo, TXâThe San Angelo Saints of the Central Hockey League and Encore Broadcasting of San Angelo today announced their partnership naming KKCN 103.1 the new flagship home of Saints radio broadcasts. Saints President Jim Cook and John Kerr, General Manager of Encore Broadcasting, made the announcement.
"I'm very happy with the partnership," said Saints President Jim Cook. "It is a lot more than just a radio deal. Encore and the Saints will co-promote not only hockey, but also many exciting events during the season."
Encore Broadcasting will broadcast live each of the 30 away games during the Saints regular season, as well all post-season action on the road. A new feature included in the partnership is a weekly "Coach's Show" featuring interviews and team updates with Saints Head Coach Ray Edwards.
"We're very excited about a partnership with the Saints organization, and are looking forward to a great year with the reigning Southwest Division Champs," said John Kerr, General Manager of Encore Broadcasting. "The Saints are on the verge of another great season and I know this alliance will provide a great experience for each of our listeners and the hockey fans throughout the Concho Valley."
In other news, the Saints will host the 1st Annual Kid's Fest on October 9, 2004 at Super Wal-Mart on Sherwood Way from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Parents can bring the entire family to enjoy hours of inflatable fun from Bounce About Inflatables and test their athletic skills with the hockey shot and bowling games. The Saints will host the Odessa Jackalopes at the San Angelo Coliseum in a pre-season match on October 15, 2004 at 7:05 p.m. The contest will highlight the Saints training camp scheduled to officially open October 11 and continue through the morning of the exhibition game.
Saints fans can get ready for an early visit from the Bayou as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs take the ice October 16 for the Saints Rules Day. Fans can hear the action as the teams' practice power plays, penalty kills and more with Head Coach Ray Edwards wired to a microphone. Officials will be on hand to discuss the actual rules of the game and players will demonstrate penalties after the scrimmage. Admission is free to the event, which takes place at the San Angelo Coliseum at 4:00 p.m.
