Ice Bats Keep Fans Updated With New Speaker Series

September 15, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Austin Ice Bats News Release

The Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League today announced the "Ice Bats Speaker Series," a series of informative question and answer sessions with team representatives. The sessions, free of charge and open to the public, are a means for the Ice Bats to keep their fans updated on the latest concerning the team.

The first installment of the "Ice Bats Speaker Series" will take place next Wednesday, September 22nd, starting at 6pm at Legends Sports Bar & Grill, at the Southwest Corner of Mopac and Highway 183. Ice Bats Head Coach Jeff Greenlaw and Player-Assistant Coach Matt Barnes will be on hand to address fans and answer questions. Legends will provide extended happy hour specials for the event.

"We are constantly striving to keep our fans informed about what's going on with the team," said Ice Bats President Jeff Buch. "But one of the great things about sports at our level is the ability for fans to get close to those who coach and play the game. So in addition to e-mail and the internet, we thought fans would enjoy a more personal way of receiving information, and we came up with the ‘Speaker Series.'"

Additional "Ice Bats Speaker Series" sessions will be announced as scheduled.

The Ice Bats are preparing for their ninth season of play at the Travis County Expo Center. The Bats will open the season with three home games October 22nd through the 24th, against Southeast Division rivals Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley and Laredo.

Season tickets and corporate partnerships are currently available for the upcoming season. Once again, free Belfry Club membership is included with all full-season packages, and free parking with all full-season and 16-game ticket plans.

Fans may call the Ice Bats ticket office at (512) 927-PUCK, or log onto the team's website at www.icebats.com for more information.
