LAREDO, Texas â The 2004 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced today the signing of goalie Kevin Lachance. For season tickets or more information call (956)-718-BUCKS (2825) or log onto www.laredobucks.com.
Lachance, 5'10" 175-pounds, was 30-10-4 for the Cowithan Valley Capitols in the British Columbia Hockey League. He posted a save percentage of 0.918 and a goals allowed average of 2.62 and led the league in wins. Lachance was the MVP of the BCHL Coastal Division during the regular season as he led his team to a 38-13-4-5 record.
"Kevin played major junior hockey in Quebec for much of his junior career," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "He was an MVP in the BCHL this past year. We are looking forward to having him here. He has quick hands and has posted good numbers."
Lachance, who is from Vanier, Quebec, which is near Quebec City, spent three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts. He posted a 60-56-15 record in the QMJHL.
"I can't wait to go play," said Lachance. "I have heard a lot of good things about Laredo. It will be a big challenge to play professionally. I know the Bucks won a championship last year. I know that I will have to play well."
Lachance was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week twice during the 2001-02 QMJHL season. During the 2002-03 QMJHL season he helped the Remparts to the Memorial Cup tournament.
He attended NHL camp with the Florida Panthers in 2002.
Lachance has an older brother Ryan, who is playing professionally as a goalie with the Saguemay Fiord, located in Quebec. Kevin will team with David Guerrera to form the Bucks goalie duo.

Single game tickets for the 04-05 season go on sale Sept. 20th. Tickets for the Oct. 17 game against the Mexican National Team will also go on sale Sept. 20.
