Baltimore Blast News Release
Baltimore, MD - The MISL announced today that Baltimore Blast goalkeeper Sagu and forward Machel Millwood have been named MISL Goalkeeper of the Week and Co-Offensive Player of the Week, respectively. The Blast swept the Wave in back-to-back games last weekend to improve to 11-9 and move into third place in the MISL.
Sagu, a five-year MISL veteran, was in goal for Saturday night's 13-7 victory over the Wave and allowed just three goals in the match. He turned away 14 of the 17 shots he faced for an .824 save percentage and held the Wave scoreless for the first 33:46 of the game. Sagu leads the MISL in save percentage (.746) and he ranks second with a 10.32 points against average. He is 9-6 on the season and has been in goal for three of the Blast's last four consecutive wins. This is Sagu's fourth Goalkeeper of the Week title this season.
Millwood is in his third season with the Blast and leads the team with 56 points this season. He recorded five goals in the two games against the Wave, including three goals in the fourth quarter on Sunday to lead the Blast to the 14-12 come-from-behind victory. Millwood, a former player at Towson University, recorded one goal in Saturday night's victory over the Wave and four goals in Sunday's game for his second hat trick of the season.
Philadelphia's Don D'Ambra was named MISL Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Detroit's Matt Johnson was the Defensive Player of the Week.
