Kingston, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (31-24-2-2) face off against the Kingston Frontenacs (24-31-1-2) Sunday, March 5, at Leon's Centre.

Saginaw lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Ottawa 67's Saturday, March 4, at TD Place. Spirit rookie Joey Willis scored two goals, including the one that sent the game to overtime. Tristan Lennox got the start for the Spirit, stopping 29 of 32 shots faced.
Kingston lost 4-1 to the same Ottawa 67's Friday, March 3, at Leon's Centre. Maddox Callens scored the lone goal for the Frontenacs.
This Season:
This is the second of two meetings between the Spirit and Frontenacs, with Saginaw winning 3-2 at home on November 3, 2022. Saginaw's Brayden Hislop, Pavel Mintyukov, and T-Bone Codd each netted a goal within a four-minute span to erase a 2-0 defecit. Andrew Oke started in net, stopping 23 of 25 shots faced. Paul Hughes and Matthew Soto potted a goal each for Kingston. Mason Vaccari got the nod for the Frontenacs, letting in three goals on 24 shots.
Players to Watch:
Saginaw's Mitchell Smith goals in three straight games, and 13 points (4G, 9A) in his last nine. The Saginaw native is third in assists (33) for the Spirit this season. Matyas Sapovaliv leads the team in goals (22) while Dean Loukus leads in assists (38). Loukus and Michael Misa share the most points (50) for Saginaw. Tristan Lennox holds the best goals against average (GAA) for his team with a 3.19. Andrew Oke has the best save percentage (SV%) for the Spirit with an .893.
Kingston's Christopher Thibodeau has the most goals (15) while Ethan Miedema has the most points (41) and assists (29). Mason Vaccari holds top goaltender marks for the Frontenacs, posting a 3.41 GAA and a .902 SV%.
