Sacramento Republic FC Releases Inaugural Season Schedule

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (January 30, 2014) - USL PRO released the 2014 schedule today including Sacramento Republic FC's upcoming home matches. The schedule includes 14 home matches highlighted by its inaugural home opener on April 26 versus Harrisburg City Islanders, a match up with Major League Soccer (MLS) expansion franchise and 2013 USL PRO Champion Orlando City SC on July 17 and its last home match on September 6 versus LA Galaxy II.

All home matches are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. PST start except for the one Sunday match. Six home matches will take place on Saturday, three Thursday matches, two Wednesday matches, two Friday matches and one Sunday match. The club will begin its season with a 5-game road trip beginning with its season opener versus the newest USL PRO Club, LA Galaxy II. It will also play the reserve squads of MLS clubs Chivas USA (April 7) and Colorado Rapids (June 20). Preseason schedule and friendlies to be released in the coming weeks including match ups versus an MLS club, European Premier League club and Mexican Premiere Club.

Sacramento Republic FC is currently planning to play its home matches at Cal Expo in a new 8,000 seat multi-use facility, pending Cal Expo Board of Directors approval of an agreement between Cal Expo and Ovations Food Service.
