USL PRO 2014 Schedule Announced

PHOENIX, Ariz. - USL PRO announced its 2014 regular season format and schedule today. As part of the growth being seen in the USL PRO, three teams have joined the league for the 2014 season: the LA Galaxy II, OKC Energy FC and Sacramento Republic FC. Each of the 14 teams will play a total of 28 games during the regular season. Like last season, every team in the USL PRO will play two games against MLS Reserve teams. Phoenix FC is scheduled to open its second season on March 30 against the Colorado Rapids reserve team at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and will play Chivas USA at home on May 24.
The league will feature a single-table format. The top eight finishers in the table will participate in the 2014 USL PRO Playoff starting September 12. Those eight teams will be competing for a spot in the 2014 USL PRO Championship to be played the weekend of September 26-28. All games in the playoff rounds will be decided with a single-game knockout format and teams will not be re-seeded following each round.
Phoenix FC fans will be able to enjoy home games at the team's new home: Peoria Sports Complex. Information regarding season tickets and single-game tickets will soon be announced for fans to support their home team. Fans will be able to enjoy away games for free through YouTube's live stream. Participating players will be charged a $125 fee and will receive lunch on Saturday along with a t-shirt to be used during tryouts. Players interested are encouraged to register through PhoenixFC.com by Jan. 31 as walk-up registrations will not be accepted on the day of tryouts. Pioneer Park is located at 8755 N. 83rd Ave. in Peoria, Ariz.
