MONARCHS NOTES: The Monarchs (200-168) became just the third team in the WNBA to win 200 games (Los Angeles: 236-131, Houston: 228-140). Tonight's win marks the Monarchs first win between these two teams in Sacramento since 6/10/06 (80-70). The Monarchs have never lost a series against Chicago. Sacramento shot 23-of-27 free throws for a season-high .852 from the charity strip. Four Monarchs players scored in double figures: Adrian Williams-Strong had 11 points, Kara Lawson had 10 points, Ticha Penicheiro had 10 points and Crystal Kelly had 13 points. Today is Nicole Powell's 26th birthday. Crystal Kelly had a team-high 13 points (9-of-10 from the free throw line) and a career-high seven rebounds.
SKY NOTES: Chicago shot .509 (28-of-55) from the field for the game. The Sky outscored the Monarchs 42-30 in points in the paint. Candice Dupree had her second consecutive double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to go along with two blocks. Jia Perkins scored in double figures in the eighth consecutive game including going for 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting tonight. Chasity Melvin had 10 points (4-of-5 shooting) and seven rebounds.
