
Sabres Assign Nylander to Team Sweden

BUFFALO, N.Y. --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced the organization has assigned forward Alexander Nylander to the Swedish men's national junior ice hockey team for the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship. The tournament will be held in Toronto and Montreal from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
Nylander (6'1", 180 lbs., 3/2/1998) has totaled 17 points (5+12) in 29 games as a rookie for the Rochester Americans (AHL) during the 2016-17 season. The Sabres' first-round pick (8th overall) at the 2016 NHL Draft, Nylander led Team Sweden in goals (4) and points (9) at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.
