St. John's IceCaps News Release


Saturday, Dec. 17 RCH 3 vs STJ 2 (OT) RECAP Yannick Veilleux scored his second goal in as many nights; however Justin Bailey netted the winner in the extra frame to sink the IceCaps. Captain Max Friberg gave the IceCaps a 1-0 lead in the first before the Americans replied with two goals in the second.

3 THINGS TO KNOW

Long Time From Home: St. John's kicked off a season-long ten game road trip which extends over the Christmas break on Wednesday. The team will not return home until January 13th.

Terry's Red Hot: Chris Terry continues to be a force in an IceCaps uniform. Terry is currently riding a seven-game point streak during which he has picked up five goals and thirteen points.

Hurting IceCaps: Entering Saturday's contest against the Americans, the IceCaps were without their top- seven point producers statistically this season due to injury or recall to Montreal.

Wedneday, Dec. 14 BNG 4 vs STJ 3 (OT) RECAP A third period push by the St. John's IceCaps sent the game to overtime, but it was not enough as a goal by Senators' forward Max McCormick was the difference maker in overtime. David Broll, Chris Terry and Sven Andrighetto each scored for the IceCaps in the loss. Friday, Dec. 16

STJ 3 vs UTI 0 RECAP Charlie Lindgren turned aside all 33 shots he faced as the IceCaps' rookie goaltender posted his first career shutout. Yannick Veilleux picked up his first goal as an IceCap to make it 1-0 followed by Jeremy Gregoire and Daniel Audette who both scored in the third period.
