San Jose SaberCats News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 10, 2003) - Former University of Houston defensive back Hamin Milligan signed with the World Champions today and is expected to be in uniform when the SaberCats host Detroit on Friday, announced General Manager Terry Malley.
Milligan (6-2, 185) was signed to help bolster an injury plagued defensive backfield. San Jose already has two defensive backs, Anthony Cobbs and Rashied Davis, on injured reserve. He signed with San Jose last November and attended training camp with the team before being a final cut on January 27.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Native played in 11 games making nine starts for the Cougars in 2001. He led the team with two interceptions and posted 70 tackles while teaming with his younger brother, Hanin, to form a solid defensive secondary. He transferred to Houston from Garden City Community College where he was a first-team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American.
Milligan may see action when the SaberCats host the Detroit Fury on Friday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for that game and all remaining home games at HP Pavilion are available and can be purchased through all Northern California TicketMaster outlets and at the HP Pavilion box office.
