The Owen Sound Attack has named Anaheim Ducks draft pick Bobby Ryan the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending March 11, 2007.
The first game of the week was Saturday night in Owen Sound as the Attack hosted the Windsor Spitfires. Bobby Ryan picked up 4 assists to lead the team in scoring in the game as the Attack skated to a 9-4 win, their 5th consecutive on home ice.
The following afternoon the Attack hosted the London Knights in a potential preview of the first round of the playoffs. Bobby Ryan had a 5 point game with 3 goals and 2 assists. His game tying goal with 1:59 remaining was the 132nd of his OHL career to pass Wes Goldie for the most in franchise history. He was named First Star of the game as the Attack would lose in a shootout 7-6.
He finished the week with 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points in 2 games played with a rating of Plus 3.
He has now moved into sole possession of 8th in OHL Scoring and is just 1 point behind Bryan Little of the Barrie Colts.
Bobby Ryan now holds three franchise records.
1. Most goals in franchise history - 132 (with 2 games remaining in regular season)
2. Most assists in franchise history - 191 (with 2 games remaining in regular season)
3. Most points in franchise history - 323 (with 2 games remaining in regular season)
He will receive the Becker Shoes award at the next home game which is the final game of the regular season for the Attack. That is Saturday night (March 17) at 7:30pm against the Guelph Storm.
