Ryan Garbutt Called up to Chicago

The Chicago Wolves announced today that they have signed former IceRays forward Ryan Garbutt to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). The team is making on a road-trip through the South over the coming week with an opportunity to see Garbutt play in the area. The schedule for their upcoming games is as follows:

Wed. November 10, 2010, 7:30 PM - AT Texas Stars

Fri. November 12, 2010, 6:00 PM - AT Oklahoma City Barons

Sun. November 14, 2010, 3:00 PM - AT San Antonio

Tue. November 16, 2010, 7:30 PM - AT Texas

Wed., November 17, 2010, 7:00 PM - AT Houston

The Chicago Wolves have signed center Ryan Garbutt to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO) and have assigned left wing Patrick Galivan to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

GARBUTT ranks first in the ECHL with 10 goals and shares first on the Gwinnett Gladiators and second in the league with 17 points in 10 games this season. He was named the ECHL player of the week for the period ending Nov. 7, after posting five goals and seven points in four games.

Last season, the 25-year-old forward ranked third on the Corpus Christi Icerays (CHL) with 22 goals and sixth with 50 points in 64 games during his professional debut. He also paced Corpus Christi and ranked eighth in the CHL with 204 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native posted 29 goals, 29 assists, 58 points and 203 penalty minutes in 116 career outings with Brown University (ECAC), spanning four seasons (2005-09).
