Runners Add Two to Roster
November 10, 2010 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Topeka Pilots News Release
The Topeka RoadRunners made a few roster changes this week, dealing defenseman Cody Walsh to the Motor City Metal Jackets, then acquiring defenseman Trevor Campbell from the Traverse City North Stars. The 'Runners also picked up Jordon Robertson from the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers.
For Trevor Campbell, coming to play in Topeka is a dream come true as he is a native of Kansas City. Head Coach and GM Scott Langer says of Campbell, "He's a veteran defenseman who brings maturity and leadership qualities. He's a good character player with a work ethic that fits into our culture." Listed as 5'10" and 190 lbs., Campbell put up nine assists in 16 games this year for the North Stars. Last season, he appeared in 35 games for Traverse City, registering 12 points and a plus +18 rating. Regarding Jordon Robertson, Langer anticipates good things. At 6'1" and 178 lbs., "He will add immediate depth. He has higher end speed and energy." Robertson, who hails from Everett, WA appeared in one game for Des Moines this season.
The two newest RoadRunners are in Topeka and practicing with the team. It's possible they will see action this weekend when the RoadRunners welcome the New Mexico Mustangs to town for a pair of games.
