Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush announced today it has waived kicker Dan Frantz.

Frantz originally was signed February 10 to fill in while kicker Keith Gispert was on Injured Reserve. He played in six games for Chicago, converting 32 of 35 extra point attempts and eight of 13 field goal attempts, including a career-long 52-yarder March 5 vs. Dallas.

Gispert was activated last Friday and kicked in Chicago's 51-44 win over Grand Rapids Sunday.

"Dan did a great job for us while Keith was hurt, and I thanked him before he left for helping us win some games while he was here," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "But Dan knew from the beginning that he was only here until Keith was healthy and he was comfortable with that. I know he will have another job in this league very soon."

The Rush (4-5) begins a three-game road trip this week with a trip to Orlando to play the Predators (5-4). The game will be broadcast live in Chicago on NBC beginning at 11 a.m.

Chicago returns home to Allstate Arena Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. to host the Las Vegas Gladiators. Fans interested in purchasing tickets for the Las Vegas game, or the final Rush home game against Utah on Saturday May 6, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
