
Rush To Play A Pair Of Exhibition Games Against Gorillas

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush announced today that this year's hockey season will begin with two home exhibition games on Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th against the Amarillo Gorillas. Tickets for the first-ever home exhibition games will be made available on Monday, August 17th at 10am.
"I think this will be a great way to start off our 2nd season," said Rush Assistant Coach Mark DeSantis. "Amarillo will prove to be a tough opposition for us this season. This will give our guys a good test to what the upcoming season will be all about. This will also give our great fans a chance to see what our training camp is all about while also enjoying to see some new and old faces of the Rush."
Rush season ticket holders may purchase their tickets for these exhibition games for $7 per ticket and have first right of refusal through September 7th. The general public may purchase tickets for $10 per ticket through the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Tickets will be available online at www.GotMine.com or by calling 1-800-GOT-MINE. Season ticket holders must stop by or call the Rush office at 605.716.PUCK (7825) to reserve their seats.
The Rush have a number of ties to the Amarillo organization, beginning with the coaching staff. Rush Head Coach Joe Ferras made his Head Coaching debut with the then Amarillo Rattlers during the 2001-02 season and continued to lead the now Amarillo Gorillas for four more years. Rush Assistant Coach Mark DeSantis played four years in Amarillo where he was Captain as well as Player-Assistant. Rush All-Star Rich Hansen also suited up for the Gorillas during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.

The Rapid City Rush will be co-hosting a Rapid City Rush Foundation Community Picnic Saturday, August 29th from 12 pm to 3 pm at Memorial Park. The picnic is open to the public and will offer food and refreshments, various activities and a live and silent auction. A $5 donation is encouraged.
