Chicago Rush News Release
CHICAGO (OCTOBER 4, 2011) - The Chicago Rush is pleased to announce today that WR Reggie Gray will return for the team's 2012 season.
"We are ecstatic to welcome back Reggie for the 2012 season," said Rush head coach Bob McMillen. "He was an undeniable force not only on offense last season but also special teams. Through his hard work and determination he will serve as a true leader on the field this season."
"It feels wonderful to re-sign with the Rush," said Gray. "Chicago is my hometown and my heart wouldn't let me leave this great team. They believed in me and gave me an opportunity last season and I felt I owed it to the team and the city to stay here."
Gray (5-10, 175, Western Illinois) had a record-breaking season with the Rush in 2011. He broke Rush franchise records with 1,969 receiving yards, 53 all-purpose touchdowns and 130 receptions in a single season. He was named to the 2011 All-Ironman team as well as the second All-Arena team. In his first full season in the AFL he ranked third in scoring with 322 points.
Prior to joining the Rush in 2011, Gray was briefly on the team's practice squad in 2008. He also played professionally with the CIFL's Chicago Slaughter in 2009 and 2010.
