June 14, 2013 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Chicago Rush News Release

Long before the Chicago Rush take the field on Saturday evening, wide receivers Taurus Johnson and D.J. Woods will attend Rockford's Friday Night Flix and a local flag football event.

As the Chicago Rush continue to cement their relationship with the Rockford community, Rush wide receivers Taurus Johnson and D.J. Woods will head to Rockford a day early to attend Friday Night Flix and the local NFL Flag Football/Cheer program.

Johnson and Woods will arrive at Davis Park at approximately 7:45 in the evening for Friday Night Flix, where they will sign autographs for 35 minutes before pumping up the crowd and introducing the movie of the night.

Then, on Saturday, Johnson and Woods will head to Guilford High School Stadium for the NFL Flag Football/Cheer program. There, they will assist with the coin toss, talk to the teams and sign autographs.

This will take place at approximately nine in the morning.

The festivities will continue right until game time, as Jennifer Marshall, NFL Cheer Coordinator, and her squad will meet with the Adrenaline Rush dance team. Finally, at seven, NFL Cheer will form a tunnel to welcome the Chicago Rush onto the field, where the Rush will take on the San Antonio Talons in a pivotal divisional battle.

Fans will be treated to a full night of football, including a flag football game featuring 12 to 14 year olds during halftime.

Woods, a former member of the Tennessee Titans, has made a fast impression after just two games with the Rush. He had five receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown in his first game with Chicago and then had five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Rush's Rockford debut. Taurus Johnson, meanwhile, had a two-yard reception against Spokane in Week 2 of the 2013 season. He ranks second in South Florida history with 12 career touchdowns.
