Saskatchewan Rush News Release
Calgary, AB - It was a night to forget for the Saskatchewan Rush. The Calgary Roughnecks came away with a 18-8 win over their prairie rival, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
After retuning from injury, Evan Kirk started between the pipes for Saskatchewan. Kirk allowed 10 goals on 20 shots, and was replaced by Calgarian Adam Shute midway through the 2nd Quarter. Shute stopped 21 of the 29 shots he faced. Rush forward Mark Matthews chipped in offensively with a single goal and 5 assists.
Dane Dobbie led the way offensively for Calgary with 4 goals and 4 assists. Tyler Pace wasn't far behind, with 4 goals and 2 assists of his own. Roughnecks star Curtis Dickson added a goal and 5 helps of his own. Riggers goalie Christian Del Bianco stopped 36 of the 44 shots he faced.
Following a San Diego win and Saskatchewan loss this weekend, the Rush have not yet secured a home playoff date and will look to do so in their last game of the season next Saturday vs. Colorado. Saskatchewan now sits 10-7, San Diego also 10-7, and Calgary 10-8. Following a Vancouver loss earlier this evening, Colorado has clinched a spot in the 2019 NLL Playoffs.
