
Rush Embark On First-Ever Playoff Run Tonight Against Mavericks

(Rapid City, SD) -The Rapid City Rush kick off their quest for the Ray Miron President's Cup tonight against the Missouri Mavericks in game #1 of the Northern Conference Semifinals best-of-7 series. The Rush have home ice advantage after securing the Northern Conference regular season title in the final weekend of the regular season. Missouri enters the series following a 3-1 victory over the Mississippi RiverKings on Thursday night, winning the best-of-3 opening round.
Although the Rush are the higher seed, building availability at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center has forced the series to take an unconventional route with Games One and Two taking place at the Independence Events Center before heading back to South Dakota for the next three contests. Follow the away games by tuning into 100.3 the FOX the flagship station of the Rush.
The Rush will play the first ever home playoff game (series game #3) on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:35. Throughout the playoffs, the Rush will begin a tradition of "white outs" at the RPCC where fans are encouraged to don white in support of their team.

Through the regular season, the Rush ended with a 5-0 record against the Mavericks. Rapid City's leading scorers against the Mavs are Scott Wray (4-5--9), Brendan Cook (3-5--8), and Les Reaney (2-6--8). Goaltender Danny Battochio has been especially strong against the Mavs, posting a 1.67 gaa and.947 sv% in three appearances.
