Brahmas Win Overtime Marathon, 3-2

(Odessa, TX) - A loose puck in front of the net deflected off the skate of Tyler Skworchinski and in the net for a 3-2 overtime win as the Texas Brahmas took a 2-0 series lead over the Odessa Jackalopes on Saturday night at the Ector County Coliseum.

Odessa forced overtime with a third period goal from Kory Karlander at 2:23 from Dave Van Drunen and Dominic Leveille to tie the game at 2-2.

Both teams traded first period goals as Lee Jubinville scored just under two minutes into the contest to give Texas a 1-0 lead. Sebastien Thinel tied it up for Odessa on a wrist shot from the left circle at 9:11.

Tyler Skworchinski scored the goal of the second period at 8:27 when his wrist shot from the right circle trickled past Joel Martin, who initially stopped the puck. Texas led 2-1 after forty minutes of play.

The series now moves to North Richland Hills, TX for game three on Wednesday and game four on Friday. Both games start at 7:05 PM and can be heard on Classic Rock 102.1 FM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
