Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - The Edmonton Rush held the Calgary Roughnecks to two second-half goals en route to a 16-8 triumph Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Rush were led offensively by Mark Matthews who scored three goals and set up five others. Ben McIntosh (2g, 5a) and Zack Greer (2g, 4a) both had strong performances in the win while Jarrett Davis (3), Riley Loewen (3), Robert Church (2) and Cory Conway also scored for Edmonton.
Shawn Evans led the Roughnecks with a pair of goals and two assists while Curtis Dickson (3), Dane Dobbie (2) and Jeff Shattler contributed with goals for Calgary.
Aaron Bold recorded his first win of the 2015 campaign with a 32-save effort as Edmonton improves to 1-2. Mike Poulin and Frankie Scigliano, in relief, combined for 28 saves for Calgary.
The Roughnecks, now 0-3 on the season, return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when Calgary travels to Toronto to face the Rock (3-1) at 5:00 p.m. MT at Air Canada Centre. Calgary's next home game is Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. MT against the Buffalo Bandits.
