Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah (Thursday, May 10, 2012) - Real Salt Lake (7-3-2, 23 pts.; 1st in West) puts its current "top of the table" standing on the line against budding rival Seattle on Saturday, the Utah club's third road clash of the year against this year's MLS elite. RSL travels on Saturday, May 12 to the Pacific Northwest to face the Seattle Sounders (7-1-1, 22 pts.; t-2nd in West) at CenturyLink Field, in a rematch of last year's Western Conference Semifinal series. RSL concludes its third three-game week of the season looking to improve upon its 2-2-2 road mark this season with an 8:00 p.m. MT kickoff, televised live on ABC4, with Bill Riley & Brian Dunseth on the call. Fans can also catch the action via the team's official radio partners: ESPN 700 / ESPN700Sports.com and La Gran D 102.3 FM, and by live Twitter updates on Twitter.com/RealSaltLake.
Wednesday's 0-0 draw versus Chicago Fire gave RSL its fourth clean sheet of their 12-game season. In a concurrent match against FC Dallas, Seattle's Fredy Montero scored two goals just three minutes from being off the bench, giving the Sounders a 2-0 victory, and placing them just one point behind RSL. The Claret-and-Cobalt enter Saturday's critical match with a four-game unbeaten streak, but the Sounders are on to their sixth, including five consecutive wins.

RSL History v. Seattle Sounders
On Saturday, Real Salt Lake returns to the home of its greatest glory, visiting Seattle Sounders FC at what is now Century Link Field, home of RSL's MLS Cup 2009 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy. A year ago, both teams attained 2-1 wins on the road in regular-season meetings - Seattle on May 28 at Rio Tinto, and RSL on September 10, in a game marred by first-half red cards to Tony Beltran and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado. Seattle then won 2-0 against RSL in the home leg of the 2011 MLS Western Conference Semifinals, falling a goal shy of forcing overtime due to RSL's 3-0 dominance in the first leg.
All-time, RSL is 3-4-2 against Seattle, including a perfectly even 2-2-2 in regular-season play. Each team has won a playoff game against the other, with only the 2009 MLS play-in victory by Seattle in a preliminary round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tipping the scales.
