Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, Berks Community Television (BCTV), America One Television Networks, Boscov's Travel, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines today jointly announced the renewal of the partnership to televise all Royals' away games during the 2011-2012 season on BCTV. Royals TV presented by Boscov's Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines will launch it's second season with the Royals' season opener on Friday, October 14, 2011 (7:05 pm), which will be televised live from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina, where the Royals will face the South Carolina Stingrays.
Royals TV will carry all thirty-six of the team's regular season away games, as well as any road playoff games, on BCTV cable channels throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania. Fans in Berks County can tune in to BCTV on Comcast Cable Channel 13 and Service Electric Cable Channel 19. The televised feed, which will be provided by America One, will include the simulcast of the Royals Radio Network audio feed courtesy of Citadel Broadcasting and ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading.
"We're thrilled to bring our fans televised access to all of our road games for the second year in a row," said Royals' General Manager Mark Wallace. "The feedback we received regarding Royals TV last season was overwhelmingly positive. This gives our fans an opportunity to watch every game that the team plays - be it live at the Sovereign Center or on BCTV. This would not be possible without the support of Boscov's Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, as well as the enthusiastic effort of the management and staff at BCTV. We also want to thank our new radio partner, ESPN Radio 1240 am, for permitting the simulcast of the game night radio broadcast."
Ann Sheehan, the Executive Director of BCTV, stated, "We're very excited to be bringing Royals' away games to the Berks County community once again. We felt that last season was a resounding success in what was a new and innovative use of our facilities at BCTV. We're happy to be part of this great partnership with the Royals, Boscov's Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines."
