Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
SURPRISE, AZ - Ben Hendrickson, acquired by the Kansas City Royals in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, made his first start for Omaha on Wednesday, working three innings of the Royals 5-1 loss to the Oklahoma RedHawks.
Hendrickson, who was 1-0 with a nifty 2.45 ERA in five Spring Training appearances for the Brewers, did not fare as well in his Omaha debut. The 26-year old right-hander allowed three runs - two of them earned - on two hits and four walks, striking out one batter.
Royals batters mustered just four hits on the day, with the only run scoring on outfielder Adam Greenberg's home run in the third inning.
Lefty Neal Musser fired two hitless innings of relief for Omaha, allowing one walking and striking out one RedHawk hitter.
Omaha, now 3-4-3, finishes its Cactus League schedule on Thursday by visiting the Tacoma Rainiers at the Seattle Mariners Spring Training complex in Peoria.
The Royals open their 2007 Pacific Coast League season on Thursday, April 5th at Albuquerque, with the home opener at Rosenblatt Stadium slated for Friday, April 13th at 7:05 p.m., also vs. the Isotopes.
