Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals' Jeff de Wit scored the game winner late in the second period as the club earned a 5-4 victory over the Vancouver Giants to tie the best-of-seven series 1-1.

Notes:

Bouncing Back - Tonight's victory marked the Royals' fourth consecutive Game 2 win, which dates back to the 2016 WHL Playoffs. Victoria's previous three Game 2 wins came in 2017 against the Everett Silvertips and in 2016 versus the Spokane Chiefs and the Kelowna Rockets.

Home Sweet Home - With five goals tonight, the Royals tied the club record for the most markers scored in a home playoff game. Victoria has scored five times on seven separate occasions, most recently on March 25, 2016 against the Spokane Chiefs.

Tarun' It Up - Victoria rookie Tarun Fizer, who played in his second career WHL Playoff game, recorded his first career post-season point with a goal in the opening frame. The Chestermere, AB product skated in 45 games during the regular season, where he totaled seven points (2g-5a).

Streaking Skater - Tanner Kaspick extended his playoff point streak to four games after he recorded two assists in tonight's contest. Dating back to the 2017 WHL Playoffs, Kaspick has amassed five points (1g-4a) in his last four post-season games.

Royal First - Royals' forward Lane Zablocki made his Victoria playoff debut tonight in Game 2. Zablocki has 19 games of playoff experience under his belt with the Regina Pats (2016) and the Red Deer Rebels (2017), where he has collected 17 points (14g-3a).

On the Road - The Royals and Giants head to the Langley Events Centre for Game 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday Night respectively. Puck drop for both contests are for 7:00 p.m.
