BC Division: Tonight's contest was the Royals' first of seven straight games versus teams from the BC Division. In those seven contests, Victoria will play each of the Giants, Kamloops Blazers and Kelowna Rockets twice and the Prince George Cougars once. The Royals currently hold a record of 10-5-0-0 in 15 games against BC Division teams this season.

Welcome Back: Victoria forward Phillip Schultz made his return to the line-up in tonight's game. Schultz had been away representing Denmark in the World Junior Championship Group A Division 1 Tournament, that took place from December 9-15 in Minsk, Belarus. Over the course of five games, Schultz recorded two goals and three assists to lead his team in scoring.

Streaking: With a goal in tonight's contest, Royals' forward Kaid Oliver extended his point streak to three games. During that span, Oliver has collected two goals and two assists.

First WHL Goal: Vancouver's Krz Plummer scored his first career WHL goal in tonight's game. Plummer has now tallied one goal in 31 career WHL games.

Island Born: The Giants had a pair of Vancouver Island born players in their line-up in Tyler Preziuso (Victoria) and John Little (Parksville).
